There are a couple of ways to save time and energy and get the desired transaction in a blink of an eye. All you have to do is be an account holder with the State Bank of India. State Bank of India (SBI) is renowned to be one of the most lucrative banks for internet banking. Not only is SBI one of the well-known financial institutes in India but it has featured as the third rank holder in the list of the best banks in India.  Among a plethora of services and innovations brought about in banking sector, online banking is one of them.


Rather than standing in a queue to deposit money in someone else’s account you can avail the services provided by online banking. Among the many services rendered by SBI that can be performed sitting on your comfortable couch, transferring money to someone else’s account is one of them. The first step to that is adding a beneficiary. There are broadly two types of transactions that can be made from any bank account: inter- bank transaction (non- SBI account holders) and intra- bank (SBI account holders) transactions.

How to add Intra-Bank beneficiary in SBI Net Banking?

Intra-bank transactions can be done only to account holders of SBI. There is an extremely easy way to avail these services. Quick nine steps will help you add a beneficiary for intra- bank transactions.

STEP 1: Firstly, go to the SBI Online Internet Banking Website- Avoid clicking on any random or Ponzi links.

STEP 2: Look to the left of your screen for a personal banking section. Considering that the internet bandwidth may not always be strong, there will be two options for logging in. ‘Login In’ option is applicable for the users who have a stable internet connection and ‘Login Lite’ for those users who for some reason have weak internet connection. However, I will elaborate for the procedure to be followed in case you have a strong internet connection. Press on Login to login to your personal banking.

STEP 3: Now, take two minutes out and patiently go through the instructions provided in the website and then click on ‘Continue to Login’. The next screen will ask you for your username, password. After entering these details you have logged into your SBI account.

STEP 4: On the top of your screen look for the word ‘Profile’ on the dashboard. Click on the ‘Profile’ tab.SBI-intra-bank-beneficiary

STEP 5: Click on ‘Manage Beneficiary’.

STEP 6: The sixth step is a bit crucial and requires your extra attention. This screen will require you to enter your SBI Online Internet Banking profile password. Take note that this password is not the same as your login password. Try not to enter the password incorrectly on more than three occasions. If so, your profile login will get blocked for 24 hours.

STEP 7: All you need to do is log in your profile without any qualms and then click on the ‘Intra Bank Beneficiary’ option.

STEP 8: This screen requires you to fill in crucial details like- Name, Account Number, Confirm Account Number and Transfer Limit. After you have carefully filled in the details click on ‘Submit’. STEP 9: Lastly, all you need to do is click on ‘Approve Beneficiary’ which features on the new screen. On the following screen, click on ‘Approve through OTP’. Select the account type of the beneficiary and enter in the OTP that you will receive on your registered mobile number. Be quick to enter the OTP.
